Emotional Freedom Technique is a self-help technique which can be easily taught. It assists clients in dealing with stress and anxiety by tapping on certain points within the body. It can also help with pain management. These tapping points relate to energy meridian points within the body – a bit like acupressure points. If you’ve ever tried acupunture or read about traditional Chinese medicine, you’ll already have a bit of an understanding of EFT.
The method I use is the Heart and Soul method developed by Dr Silvia Hartmann. It is simple and quick to learn. All you need is your hands.
EFT can also be used to work on fears or blocks arising from past events and to defuse anxiety about forthcoming appointments, meetings, exams, etc.
